Conversion Manager

The Conversion Manager plays a vital role in transforming the Petersen Events Center and Victory Heights Arena and Sports Performance Center to accommodate a wide range of events, ranging from concerts and sporting events, to banquets and corporate functions. This hands-on position oversees a union crew during event setups and teardowns, ensuring all conversions are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Working under the Director of Event Operations and Production, the Conversion Manager is responsible for managing logistics across various venue spaces, maintaining equipment, and adapting quickly to the demands of a fast-paced, event-driven environment. Utility Setup

The Full-Time Utility position is responsible for event setups and conversions, facility maintenance, and operational support throughout the Petersen Events Center & Victory Heights Arena and Sports Performance Center. The role prepares and maintains the facility for a wide range of events, including sporting events, concerts, banquets, commencements, and private functions.

This position works under the direction of the Lead Utility, supporting daily operations and assisting with shift leadership responsibilities when appropriate. This is a hands-on operational role within a unionized workforce and is subject to a probationary period.

The Full-Time Utility position requires a high degree of scheduling flexibility, including the ability to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support event operations and weather-related responsibilities.

Facility Manager - Victory Heights Arena and Sports Performance Center

The Facility Operations Manager is the primary building contact and oversees the proper functioning, daily operations and all necessary maintenance of the facility. In addition, the Facility Operations Manager will collaborate closely with the Director of Operations to coordinate logistics between the Petersen Events Center and the new Victory Heights Arena and Sports Performance Center.

When necessary, the Facility Operations Manager will escort various personnel throughout the building including inspectors, contractors, designers and administrators. Finally, during large events, the Facility Operations Manager functions as the official facility liaison and responds to any immediate building needs in coordination with the building engineers.

Building Engineer

The Building Engineer maintains all facility equipment in good working order including all HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, foodservice, custodial and life safety equipment. In addition, the position requires that both minor and major repairs be performed on said equipment as needed.

Escorts and assists various personnel throughout the facility including inspectors, contractors, designers and administrators. Finally, during large events, the engineer provides standby coverage and responds to any immediate needs of the event staff, such as regulating temperature, electrical tie-ins and lighting management.
